To ensure compliance with publishers’ rights, Google has implemented measures to only include freely available articles in the SGE while browsing feature. This means that paywalled articles will not be accessible through this search tool. Publishers have the ability to designate articles as either free or paywalled, thus controlling the visibility of their content in this type of search. Currently, SGE while browsing is available in the Google app for iOS and Android, and it will be introduced to Chrome on the desktop in the coming days.

Code Understanding and Debugging for Programmers

The third feature introduced by SGE is specifically designed for programmers. Recognizing the increasing demand for coding education, Google has implemented new ways to understand and debug generated code. With this update, specific strings of code appearing in AI-generated summaries will be color-coded, while the syntax will be highlighted. This enhancement aims to help programmers quickly identify important elements, such as keywords, comments, and strings. Furthermore, when Chrome is ready for SGE while browsing, users can enable this feature from the same settings page.
